It’s a very full work week for me so I’m a bit late with my weekly planning post. And probably going to be a bit brief with it as well.
Joining in with Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom!
The Weather
Ten degrees and feels like 0 this morning. It was a high of 50 degrees yesterday and then got colder all day long. Same old up and down stuff. Not a snow/rain cloud in sight so far this week.
How I Am Feeling This Morning
Tired, rushed, frustrated, and slightly hopeful. Lots of feelings. Looking into switching J to online homeschooling. (If you have some experience with that, let me know) As well as trying to figure out if he can still do band at the high school so a mixed option of sorts. Have a friend calling me to talk about it more later tonight.
On My Reading Pile
Dune by Frank Herbert (honestly, glad I saw the new movie first) and How to be Sad by Helen Russell.
On My TV
NFL play offs. (Got to say it, GO CHIEFS! and wow, what a game…that I watched mostly through my hands screaming, I can’t watch! Tell me did he get the field goal? Did they score? What a great game that truly could’ve gone either way.) I am sorry and bit disappointed it won’t be a Green Bay vs KC match up. Of course, the Chiefs still have to face the Bengals and I’m thinking that’s not going to be an easy game either.
Looking way too forward to my Thursday night viewing of Joe Millionaire.

Looking Around The House
It’s been worse
To Relax This Week I Will
Watch my guilty pleasure TV show with snacks
From The Camera
Managed a picture of the sunset sky one evening over the weekend. I usually can’t get a decent photo because of houses but that night my timing was great and the colors extended high enough into the sky that I could point the camera up at the sky enough to capture it and not the houses.
Something Fun To Share
Today is Rudolph Day, a day to celebrate/plan for Christmas on the 25th day of each month.
Quote For The Week
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
Yes, Jean. Three of my children switched to online homeschooling from “regular” school. It was the best decision we ever made! They enrolled in PALCS, an online school with certified teachers, a 180-day school calendar, and lessons that were live and taped so the kids could attend at their own time. The school provided a laptop for each student and a printer for the family. They also reimbursed us our internet fee, even though I told them we would have internet regardless! We loved it! They also had a real graduation ceremony complete with caps and gowns. Of course, there is no charge, as it is considered a public school. Good luck with your decision. I am here if you have any questions.

Thank you for the information. I’m very much in the research stage here but knowing about the graduation stuff is helpful as well. As I told a friend, I’m struggling a bit with the idea of letting go of what I thought things would look like vs how they might look now. Hope you’ve had a great week so far.
Blessings Jean,
First of all congrats on the KC win- that was EPIC!! I’m so bummed it won’t be a match up between our 2 teams too. That would have been awesome. Yes, will hope on next year…but I’d also be surprised if Rodgers sticks around- and that will make our season much harder in my opinion. Guess we’ll just have to see! 😊 But I’m cheering for KC for you!!
I think if there is concern for health – and maybe even other factors – online school could be a great asset. Prayers for figuring it out and being led to the right decision for you all.
I LOVE those sunset pics – absolutely gorgeous!! Stay well and have a great rest of the week. xo

Thank you! I’m hoping they can keep the momentum going for Sunday, think they’ll need it against the Bengals. I would be surprised if he didn’t retire as well but who knows. Thank you, it’s quite a process to figure it all out. Honestly, the school administrators haven’t been overly helpful this year but I’m trying to give a bit of grace since I know they’re likely overwhelmed due to COVID. I was excited to get the sunset pictures. Hope you are continuing to recover well and feeling better!
YAY I was thinking about you all through the game! Congratulations on the win! Personally I’d like to see this be the Chiefs and Rams now that the Packers are out. 😀
On line school is so difficult to decide on. I have a friend whose 2 older kids did online last year, but still participated in sports. Ultimately they suffered from the online, but mainly because of the system in place and the teacher’s inability to cope with both in class and on line, but I’m sure it’s truly based on each different school system and those involved. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you make these difficult decisions.
GORGEOUS sunset pictures! Have a WONDERFUL week.
Thank you! Hoping for a repeat (of the win, not necessarily a heart-stopping kind of win but just a regular win) this weekend. It is very hard to decide, in our district on-line is strictly on-line and you don’t get to participate. The homeschool/still participate is what I’m researching as it’s different from state to state and school to school. A friend I talked to Monday also suggested maybe he could just get his HISET (replaced the GED) and graduate early. Lots of options to sift through, right now I’ve decided to take things day by day because what else can I do? Thank you for your thoughts and prayers on it all, I do appreciate. We’ve made it to the eve of the weekend. Happy Thursday!
