It makes sense that not every day is going to be a full and exciting post if we do this for a full year. Today is one of those days.
Not too much to share. Slow start to my Friday. And didn’t accomplish too much today. Just one task really. I took J to the DMV to renew his expired learner’s permit. And we almost bought a lottery ticket afterward.
We were, not kidding, in and out of there in under 10 minutes! Only 2 numbers behind when we got our ticket. Called up quickly, handed over our documentation and money, and out with a renewed learner’s permit. Not sure where the department of motor vehicles functions in your area but around here, fast is not usually in the vocabulary if going there is in the conversation. And on the last day of the month no less!
Not much else happening around here today. Debating pizza for dinner. Washing the bedding. Slowly changing out the March decorations for Easter.
Ending this one by sharing a couple random photos I took on my phone the past 2 days. One is the end of what was probably a more beautiful sunrise than I captured (missed the best colors). And the other a cardinal that surprised me by poking its head out of the boxwoods yesterday.

Day 88/365
I’m glad you were out of there fast, our DMV is so slow and always full of people.
Here in Texas, the learner’s permit doesn’t expire for years, they actually issue a driver’s license, that just needs to be updated once you go for your actual driver’s test. Jasmine has had her learner’s for over a year, and just hasn’t had the time to go for the test, so she has to drive with me or dad in the car, but she’s good for many years. lol
That is how our DMV is usually. I was so shocked especially since the last day of the month is usually one of the very worst days for it. That’s nice about the learner’s permit in Texas. Here you only get 1 year. And we had to provide proof of identity/address all over again. Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far!
I’m glad that you got your DMV sorted out, in the UK we now have to do a drivers theory test. This is only valid for 2 years, so as long as you’ve passed your practical test, you are fine. If not sadly you have to retake the test. Good to visit your blog, take care Cx
So, if I understand correctly, you have to retake a written driver test every 2 years? Yikes. Here, it’s a one off unless you let your license expire past the grace period, then you have to take all parts again, I think. For his permit, just a written test plus the vision test. This is all making me think I should go check the date on my driver’s license. They recently started longer terms, I think I had a 3 year one. Only thing we have to do for renewal is take a vision test and prove identity, I think(and pay money, of course). Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
