This is either going to be the quick edition or the all day edition (more likely). I have about 2o minutes until I leave for work so trying to get this post done in that time.
Joining in with Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom. Go check out the fun link up! And join in, it’s such an encouraging way to start the week.
The Weather
Not sure what happened but it actually seems like winter lately. 25 and cloudy right now, chance of snow Wednesday. Supposed to be in the 30s to low 40’s most of the week with one cold day right after the day they call for snow. We’re getting to enjoy the pretty snow but mostly not worry about the roads. I’ll take it.
As I Look Outside My Window
It’s cloudy. Saw a few birds at the bird feeders out the back door.
Right Now
I’m seeing how far I can get on this post before my “go to work” timer rings.
Thinking And Pondering
Monday’s off to a pretty good start here so I’m hoping it’s the sign of a good week. And that the week doesn’t slide downhill from here. Optimistic this morning, huh?
On My Bedside Table
This morning I actually have the TV remote and a hair tie on it.
On My TV Tonight
Probably nothing for me, too much to do tonight. Tomorrow I’ll finish watching Wednesday and see what else. And of course, I watched football over the weekend. How ’bout those Chiefs!!!???
Listening To
The dryer and a minute ago, the heating unit but it stopped.
On The Lunch Plate
No idea, I lost my lunch calendar from preschool. They seldom follow it anymore (annoyance on my part). However, I’m taking a Luna bar and an apple so I’m good.
On The Dinner Plate
Freezer frenzy night! And grocery store chicken
On The Menu For This Week
MONDAY: grocery store chicken, brisket, who knows what other odds and ends from freezer *J has a baritone lesson at 6:30* *I work 8:15-4:30*
TUESDAY: Spaghetti, breadsticks, maybe salad
WEDNESDAY: Not sure, maybe chicken chili? Or maybe just chicken strips?
THURSDAY: Roast in the crock pot
FRIDAY: Ribs in the crock pot, corn
On My Reading Pile
Finished Us Against You (finally, it’s well-written and I know I’d have enjoyed it more if I read the books in order). Also read a quick one, Five Winters by Kitty Wilson. A bit predictable but I still enjoyed it. And I’ve just started one of my library holds that came up, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. I’m not far enough into it to have an opinion.
On My To Do List
- Grocery Store (DONE yesterday)
- Clean up house a bit
- Laundry (ALWAYS)
- Pay bills
- ??Something else but I can’t remember
- All the other stuff I can’t think of right now
Plans For This Week
Other than working today, I have no plans and I can’t say I’m sad about it.
What I Am Sewing, Knitting, or Creating
A cozy home I hope
My Simple Pleasure
Watching the birds at the feeders (and yelling at the squirrels?)
****This is where my timer went off****
Looking Around The House
Looks like we were home all weekend and I worked all day today.
From The Camera
Prayer List
Friends, family, strangers. Neighbor to stay healthy. My boss and her husband to be able to go home from the hospital soon. Some sick preschool kids and teachers. J’s last semester of school to go well. A peaceful and healthy year for all.
Quote For The Week
Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do… but how much love we put in that action. (Mother Teresa)

day 23/365
I LOVE your bird pictures and the Mother Teresa quote is one of my favorites. The “not sticking to the menu” would frustrate me to no end – hope you had a great lunch and that you have a GREAT week.
Thank you! Yes, it is one of the small annoyances from my work at the moment. I try to give a lot of grace but there are some changes made lately that I don’t really care for much. However, the joy of being with the kids still outweighs everything else 🙂 Plus, I’m not there everyday anyway. Lunch, by the way, wasn’t too bad: sausage and mashed potatoes (I passed on those) and pineapple. Hope you have a great week as well!
THE BIRDS!!!!!!!! I love birds so much and you took some amazing pictures 🙂 I have a parrot and I have bird feeders all around my home. A family of crows have adopted me…lol. Your to do list looks very similar to mine..tee hee:)
have a beautiful day,
Julieann
Thank you! I love the birds at the bird feeders outdoors but indoor birds scare me a little bit. Parrots are such pretty birds though and I know super smart, our animal program guy at school brings his pet parrot when he does presentations a lot. The kids love that bird! Crows are interesting to watch. I do need to get on my list, including the remembering part, ha. Hope you have a great week!
The weather… brrrh🥶
I have enjoyed this post, so many good things, birds, cozy home, yummy foods on the menu!
I hope you are enjoying Wednesday 🙂
Have a wonderful day!
Yes, winter tends to get a bit chilly but we don’t really have it as bad as the states north of us. How cold does it get where you are? Thank you for the kind words about my post. Hope you had a great Wednesday as well! (Oh time change is so strange isn’t it? I just realized it’s still Wednesday/just started being Wednesday here 🙂 )
We got snow here too, and it’s gotten colder. It’s only supposed to be low teens this weekend. Brrr! No thanks!
“How ’bout those Chiefs!!!???” Are they going to make it all the way? Will Mahomes be able to play?? Chiefs or Eagles are my favorites at this point.
I used to love Luna bars when I was still working! The lemon ones were my favorite.
My sister just started that Lessons In Chemistry book too. Why is it so popular? It’s not my type of book, so I’m just curious.
“and yelling at the squirrels?” Strangely, we don’t get squirrels at our place. We live out in the country, have trees and feeders, and lots of birds, but no squirrels. Weird.
I think Mahomes is going to play! Probably couldn’t keep him from playing. A Chiefs and Eagles super bowl would fun. My non sport watching oldest son said he hoped it would be that because he likes the Eagles. Huh?! I do like the lemon bars but only when it’s too warm for the nutz over chocolate kind, my favorite. I didn’t know much about the book, I’d had it on hold at the library forever. If I see a book suggestion in a magazine or on-line that sounds kind of interesting, I just go ahead and put it on hold at the library. Didn’t even think I’d like it and it started slow. However, now that I’m into it…I am finding it so intriguing. Somehow it’s poignant, serious, and hilarious all at the same time. Set in the 50’s but the main character, a chemist, is very much ahead of her time in regards to social/cultural expectations. Lots of oak trees and walnut trees equals lots of of squirrels.
Hello dear Jean!
How’s about those Chiefs? Lol I may need to cheer for them now. 😉
Love your cozy pics. The woodpecker is so cute! Is it bad I’m dreaming on spring already? Winters here are so LONG – I don’t know why I punish myself that way. Lol I know better. I hope you have a very blessed week ahead dear Friend. Stay cozy! xoxo
I’m hoping they go all the way now! Wish they still had the potential to meet your team, maybe next year. It’s the time of the year for spring fever to start creeping in a bit, I think. Hopefully, the groundhog gives us all good news here in about another week 😉 Hope you have an amazing weekend!
I love the birds so much! Cute little guy! I’m only seeing 99% sparrows here in the city at my feeders. Can’t wait til we move and I will see all my sweet feathery friends again! Have a wonderful week!
Thank you! Oh, I have the sparrows here as well. So many. They can get annoying. Hope you have an amazing Thursday and great weekend!
