Happy Homemaker Monday

Last week was busy with work, enjoying the beautiful weather, and meeting up with friends on the weekend. Decided to just let myself go with the flow and not worry too much about computer land.

Back today though to plan my week with the help of Happy Homemaker Monday hosted by Sandra over at Diary Of A Stay At Home Mom.

The Weather

It’s been so nice out lately! Light jacket weather or no coat weather if wearing a sweatshirt/sweater. Today’s a little chilly and in the 40’s but it’s supposed to bump up to the 50’s by afternoon. And be in the 60’s to end the week! Of course, I do see a snowflake predicted on Superbowl Sunday.

As I Look Outside My Window

Inside the window

The sun is shining! The birds are pooping on our cars  singing!

New leaves keep arriving

Right Now

Taking a minute between today’s normal tasks to post here.

Thinking and Pondering

How to “encourage” 3 other persons in this household to help me out a bit more. Also, pondering on my focus areas for February. I’ve decided upon love, friendship, and kindness for this month. Hoping to get a post up about how last month’s focus of cleaning and clearing went and my ideas for this month’s focus areas.

How I am Feeling

A bit like I’m struggling to stay on top of being sick. Not currently sick but have that run-down feeling and a bit of a scratchy throat. The scratchy throat might just be our crazy weather.

On the Breakfast Plate

Coffee, sausage mcmuffin (from home, leftover breakfast sausage plus an English muffin), vitamins, black elderberry capsules

On the Lunch Plate

Not really sure yet. Thinking more about the lemonade tea I bought than eating.

On The Dinner Plate

French Dip sandwiches by request

On The Menu

We really winged it on last week’s menu but it went okay. Still, nice to have a plan for this week. It’s a bit crockpot heavy.

MONDAY: French Dip sandwiches

TUESDAY: Banana Pancakes and bacon, what else would we have on Pancake Tuesday?? UPDATE: I thought tomorrow was pancake Tuesday but it’s next week! Oops. Maybe we’ll have French toast instead…

WEDNESDAY: Mississippi Chicken (this is a new Paula Deen recipe for the crockpot…hoping it’s good because I have plans and won’t be home for dinner, ha!)

THURSDAY: OUT for husband’s birthday! We’re having BBQ. Chocolate cake at home.

FRIDAY: Taco soup (requested by husband)

SATURDAY/SUNDAY: Leftovers/Super Bowl party food (pizza)

What I Am Wearing Today

The week before the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl, we wear red everyday. However, I forgot to hang to dry my Chiefs shirts last night so I’m wearing a red heart Valentine sweater and jeggings today.

On My Reading Pile

I finished reading a really great one last week titled After the Forest by Kell Woods. A bit of a reimagining of Hansel and Gretel and Snow White all combined starting the tale with Hansel (Hans) and Gretel (Greta) as young adults. Really like how it kept in line with the Grimm fairy tales.

On My TV This Week

Well, of course, we cheered on Taylor Swift at the Grammys last night. Husband was mainly watching because he wanted to see Billy Joel sing. Quite a lot going on this week so not sure when/what I’ll be watching. The Big game on Sunday, of course!

Looking Around the House

Want to fill this with little decorative hearts maybe

Did set out a few Valentine Decor items.

  1. I really love your lifelike kitchen photos, haha. Yes, that’s how I know my kitchen too. And sometimes it’s tidy again in no time. Wow, your rubber plant is really big and looks so beautiful. And another new leaf already… Beautiful, isn’t it? It’s unfortunate that you’re not feeling completely healthy. Maybe increase the vitamins?

Good luck with baking a cake this week, and I hope spring breaks through.

    1. The kitchen looks better this morning but of course, I’m sure it’ll cycle back to a mess here soon. Plant is actually a tropical monstera that I bought on clearance thinking it would die and I’d have a nice pot. However, it likes us much to my husband’s dismay and just keeps on growing! Takes up way too much space in our bedroom, goes outside in the summer. Feeling a bit better today but I did start drinking some emergen-C to hopefully knock things out before they get ahold of me. Thank you. Hope you are having a great start to your week.

  2. I love requests for food. Makes dinner plans so much easier. I always ask for requests before planning the week menu. Check out this week’s holiday recipes on my blog you might find something you like.

    1. It really does help with the planning! Thank you, I’ll come check out your holiday recipes 🙂 Hope your week is off to a great start!

  3. Hello Beautiful!
Your pics look so sunny and gorgeous! I love that little basket by the way – such a cute decoration to put out and fill with good things. 🙂
I could totally handle some 60 degree weather! But not complaining that we’re getting 40’s – that’s insane for February here.
I sure hope you stay on your Crew for helping you out around there more. It’s there home too! Be tough little Momma! Lol
And stay healthy! I swear by airborne for a boost when I’m rundown like that. I swear it’s kept me from getting sick in the past.
You must be SO EXCITED for the Super Bowl!?! I’ll be watching and cheering! Go Chiefs (& Taylor 😁)
Blessings on your week ahead. xo

    1. We’ve had some great blue skies with weather to match lately. Thanks for the airborne reminder, I actually use emergen-c over here (To-may-to/To-mah-to, yeah?) and it works well. Been drinking it. Yes, so excited to watch another Super Bowl with the Chiefs playing! We’re going to a party at a friend’s house again, should be a good time and I’m working part of next Monday for a lucky teacher who gets to go see it in person(Again! Her significant other works for the Chiefs doing something office-y and they get to go as well). Hope you’ve had a great week so far!

    1. We actually pushed them to next week and had waffles last night but I’m still craving the banana pancakes. Hope you have a great rest of your week and weekend!

    1. Thank you! I’ve managed to stay on the edge of being sick (immunity vitamins, black elderberry capsules, and oregano/garlic capsules…a whole routine) while covering for lots of sick teachers this past week. Hope you’ve had a great week!
