Tuesday Things

It’s been a somewhat interesting Tuesday. Couldn’t sleep last night and then, woke up to a 6:30 a.m. call into work. Could only go in for about an hour as J had his appointment but I went ahead and helped out for that short time. And doing it again tomorrow, however, this time I know in advance and won’t have to be there quite as early.

Took J to his appointment. He didn’t want to go out for lunch afterward. Who is this kid? So, we made a quick grocery store run and ended up having homemade pizza for lunch. Spent some time messing around in the backyard. We also tested the a/c in the house. Works.

Heard the crows fussing at the owls late last night. Seems the crows chased them off successfully. We’ll see if I hear the owls (or the crows fussing) again tonight.

Pretty slow basic day over all. Tacos for dinner. We (well, my husband helped with mine) set up our new phones. The kids ran to Target and I spent time watching the crow’s nest. Talked to one of my brother’s about Easter, they already have plans. Not a huge deal as invite was very last minute.

Somewhere in all that I started a new book, Two Days in Lisbon. Very good so far, probably going to go back to reading it after I finish this brief post. Not sure why this post almost feels like a rather unexciting diary entry. Just missing the fuzzy cover and little padlock with the key. Did you ever have one of those? I think I even had a little pink one with no security like the padlocks at one point. Back before they were called fancy things like journals.

Well enough of a diary/journal entry/blog post for now.

  1. I think I maybe had one of those little pink diaries when I was a kid. I was not at all into keeping a diary then, and I was paranoid that my siblings would read it anyway. I mean, c’mon, did that little lock and key really mean anything? LOL

And now that I *want* to keep a diary . . . I mean, fancy adult journal . . . I just can’t get into it. I can start, but I don’t keep at it. I don’t know why! I *want* to do it, but don’t. Ugh! Maybe I need to start with a cheap little pink diary again.

    1. I don’t think I ever wrote anything all that exciting in my diary but I’m sure at the time it seemed important. Now, I kind of do think of this blog as a record of sorts though not an official day to day journal. I can remember just using a spiral notebook at some point to journal every day. Good luck with yours, maybe pick a topic or something to record each day like the weather? I don’t know…or yes, get a cure one with a lock and key 🙂

  2. I’ve been writing in diaries for as long as I can remember, but in my childhood those beautifully coloured diaries with padlock and key had not yet appeared in our country. My daughter had one.
    I used a plain notebook.

    1. As much as I loved the look of the little diaries like that, I found them hard to write in (still do) as I’m left handed and the bend in the pages always made writing difficult. Same thing with spiral notebooks though I simply turn those upside down and write in them from the last page to the first if I really want to write in one for personal use.

  3. I love knowing what’s going on in your world dear Friend. I totally had one of those diaries!! Lol I loved it. And wrote in it with markers that smelled like fake fruit. 😉
I hope you have a very wonderful, warm, and blessed Easter ahead. ✝️🌷🐣 🐰

    1. Oh, I loved the fruit smelling markers! Silly Scents? I think. We may or may not have some I bought the kids a few years back floating around in here somewhere. Loved the scented stickers as well 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week as well, we dipped down into the 50’s until the weekend (I know you feel sorry for us ;). Hope you see lots of sun, warm weather, and snow melt for your Easter!
